Group Work: Find The Others!
Learn the Art of
“Serious Fun”
As described in Charles Wininger’s book, “Listening to Ecstasy — The Transformative Power of MDMA,” in years past, Charles and his wife Shelley hosted dozens of gatherings using MDMA in NYC. The sense of belonging and the lasting friendships that resulted from these meaningful experiences have been a source of strength, joy and healing for the participants. Over time, an expanding circle of love, gratitude and generosity has developed. This stands in stark contrast—as well as an antidote—to a culture where alienation and loneliness are rampant.
Charles shares the best practices he has honed over twenty years and outlines the crucial fine points that maximize the chances for a day of healing, bliss and kinship that many who participate declare to be a highlight of their life.
Falling somewhere in between the hedonistic abandon of the rave scene, and the clinical protocols for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, Charles has referred to this middle path as “serious fun.”
What You’ll Learn
Creating the Container
With our help, you’ll develop a preparation process to help participants feel safe and ready for their journey. You’ll create a “set” and a “setting” that will invite playfulness, profundity, vulnerability and resource-activation.
Developing Ceremony
We’ll share some simple, secular, time-honored rituals to enhance your group’s experience. You’ll learn how to facilitate participants’ engagement with stillness, movement, creativity and, most of all, each other.
Building Community
After the group experience, community-building strategies and tools can support their ongoing engagement long after the experience comes to an end. This can strengthen their bonds and create lasting relationships.
